Switzerland, Summer of 1816, in a mansion by Lake Geneva 'The Villa Diodati' where Lord Byron is hauled up with his friends John William Polidori, Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley and Claire Claremont. An eerie and ominous darkness descends on the house and the birds in confusion settle down to roost, yet it is only midday. An electrical storm charges the atmosphere and a dagger of lightening illuminates the Lake outside the windows of Diodati which now glows a supernaturally pulsing blue. Candles are lit, and as a feverish foreboding grips his guests, Lord Byron suggests they each write a Ghost Story.....

We are issuing this limited edition print 'DIODATI' to Celebrate 200 years since the conception of two Immortal and beloved Monsters in Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' and Polidori's 'The Vampyre' and the night in which feverish creativity fused with the physical and psychological storm which raged around them ensuring the legacy of Gothic Literature forever
