Condition: Vg, 367pp +12pp catalogue headed by the advert for 'Fairy Prince' and dated 1885. Mustard yellow illustrated cloth signed 'Sambourne' with wonderfully spooky designs of a witch by her cauldren conjuring up owls, bats, black cats and toads, with plack and white titles, more animal motifs to the spine with eloborate gilt stamped titles. Corners are bumped and the spine tips have some light scuffing/tiny nicks, the tips have had light professional restoration. Spine has faded/dulled a little, general light age soiling. The binding is tight and firm with the original black endpapers, sporadic, light foxing throughout, this is heavier through the first few pages front and rear. Very uncommon.
* Contains three strange folkloric stories THE CAT MAN, THE WITCHES OF HEADCORN and RIGMAROLE; or THE SEARCH FOR A SOUL. Beautifully illsutarted throughout by Sambourne.
