SOME HAUNTED HOUSES by Elliott O'Donnell
First edition, first printing published in 1908 by Eveleigh Nash
Description: Vg- 192pp, Publisher's wonderfully atmospheric illustrated boards. Black cloth with the impression of a haunted castle by moonlight with bats & gothic stylised titles stamped in white. Corners are lightly bumped and rubbed, some light wear along the spine hinge lengths, one or two light marks to the boards only, the spine has the usual light rubbing to the tips but has retained deep colour, the titles still bright, text block has some age soiling. The endpapers have toned/browned with moderate toning and foxing throughout, some small grubby handling marks here and there, binding still very tight, no loose pages, no inscriptions or notes, small 'Brentano's' of Paris Bookseller sticker to the rear pd.
O'Donnell's titles are very thin on the ground these days and when they do appear they are often completely shot, Eveleigh Nash's publications tend to suffer (just ask any collector of William Hope Hodgson), so presentable one's like this are sought after, this in infact the only copy I can currently find for sale.
