First edition, first printing published in 1938 by Herbert Jenkins.

Condition: Book: Fine, Original orange cloth with black titles to the upper board and spine. A very fine, crisp copy, sharp corners, the lightest pushing to the spine tips, the cloth is incredibly bright and fresh, a couple of spots of foxing to the block and to the very edge of the corresponding first fourteen pages, endpapers are toned otherwise, very tightly bound and solid copy. Superb.

Jacket: Fine. The second issue jacket is priced at 2/6 net. (Wonderfully atmospheric, gothic inspired jacket design by C Laslia depicting a haunted wood by moonlight with a flying bat. The jacket has the very lightest wear to the hinge corners and spine tips, no fading to the spine whatsoever, the white flaps and rear panel are also very bright and fresh, unclipped. Unusual to find Jenkins titles like this in a wrapper at all, but one in such a fine condition is wonderful.
