First edition, first printing published in 1957 by Eyre & Spottiswoode, London.

Book: Fine, original red cloth with black titles to the spine, a couple of foxing spots to the text block, pages are uniformly toned, otherwise a superb, fresh example, no marks or inscriptions, a solid, square copy.

Jacket: Vg+ Very lightest edgewear to the extremeties and spine tips, unclipped price of 11s 6d to front flap, a beautiful example of this atmospheric jacket with the original wraparound band which has one small tear, secured to the verso with removeable, archival tape. Extremely scarce with the wraparound band.

*The Power is a recognised sci-fi classic amongst genre afficionado's. Taughtly written and unsettling tale of a scientific researcher who uncovers evidence of a mutant 'superman' with highly devoloped psychic abilities who is in hiding after murdering a number of research colleagues, laying in wait for an opportunity to wipe out a now inferior and defunct human race. The harrowing climax is praised extremely highly as being unforgetably dark.
