Book: Vg++ 308pp +compendium of events+ 8pp publisher's catalogue. Original grey cloth with blue stamped vertical designs and titles. Very light edgewear, tiny area of dulling to the top edge of the spine where the jacket has loss. Boards are vibrant, fresh and very clean, the spine is also bold and bright. Foxing to prelim's otherwise tightly bound and very clean, attractive bookplate of J Timothy Kenrick, with his ownership inscription dated June 1926.

Jacket: Good+ True first state jacket. Small loss to the top edge of the jacket spine, chipping to hinge corners and a couple to edges. Age soiling to the white areas of the jacket,  flaps are clean and bright, priced at 7/6 net. The Frank C Pape jacket is extremely scarce, and not to be confused with the illustrated edition published in 1928, also by John Lane/Bodley Head.
